This project consisted of the reconstruction and widening on I-294 from North Avenue to Grand Avenue and is part of a long-term collective for the I-490 and I-390 improvements that upon completion will reduce local road traffic and delays near O’Hare International Airport and the surrounding communities. The scope of work includes the completion of mainline bridges over North Avenue and Lake Street, pavement, noise walls, and retaining walls. Rehabilitation and reconstruction will improve safety, enhance ITS, traffic signing, and lighting components and improve rideability across miles of multi-lane for the Central Tri-State. This project is part of Move Illinois, a 15-year, $14 billion capital program to reduce travel time, pollution, and increase mobility by creating jobs and connecting economies throughout the region. Project included site/civil work, roadways, paving, street restoration, bridges, retaining walls, misc. structures, tunnels, utilities and relocations, noise walls and demolition and removal as required.
