Under a master task order agreement, various Phase I preliminary engineering and environmental studies were performed at various locations throughout IDOT’s District 1.
The task order included assisting District 1 with management and implementation of an ADA Transition Plan. Designs included affected curb and gutter, dimensioning, and labeling of sheets, and determining quantities per curb ramp. Excel sheets were developed and used to aide in the design and QA/QC procedure of the ramps. Non-ADA compliant ramps were then designed using IDOT ADA standards. In scenarios where ADA compliance could not be met, ramps were designed to the maximum extent practicable and IDOT was provided with the necessary documentation.
d’Escoto performed various Phase I preliminary engineering and environmental studies at various locations throughout IDOT’s District 1. Services included:
• Inspected ramps for ADA compliance through survey points and visual checks
• Redesigned existing, non-compliant ramps to meet ADA regulations
• Developed quantities, calculations, plan sheets, cost estimates, and specifications
• Wrote technical memos with recommended proposed geometry of non-compliant ramps
