This Terminal 5 (T5) Improvements project includes the replacement of every origin al passenger boarding bridge at Terminal 5, which involves the provisioning and installation of 35 new jet bridges and the addition of 10 new gates to the East End of Terminal 5.
Additional subprojects include significant upgrades to the Security Camera system at Terminal 5, the replacement and right-sizing of HVAC equipment for Communication Rooms and Baggage Control Room, as well as the replacement of outdated display monitors at the lower level Recheck Common Use and Bag Makeup areas.
The detailed work involved was very inclusive, pedestrian walkways, service doors, canopies, etc. all required final servicing and testing and any related electronics and or mechanical machinery needed quality control testing and firmware and software updates.
d’Escoto Inc. staff provided site representation services as a liaison for J.A. Watts. Responsibilities included general site safety observation and enforcement, pressure test monitoring, sampling for the glycol piping systems, escorting contractor personnel, documenting deliveries of jet bridge equipment and parts, monitoring punch list items being completed and resolving issues that arose between various airport entities and contractors.
