The IL 2 (South Main Street) project consisted of the reconstruction and resurfacing of roadway from north of Beltline Road to 0.4 miles north of Harrison Avenue, located southwest of Rockford, for a total distance of 2.2 miles. This portion of the work began in the Spring of 2014. This project was part of a multi-year improvement which began in 2013 and was completed in the Fall of 2015.
Additional work included removing and reconstructing 1.63 miles of 4-lane concrete pavement, auxiliary lanes, along with storm sewers, sidewalks, bike path and traffic signals improvements.
The role of d’Escoto, Inc. staff included performing inspection and documentation of pay quantities, material testing and on- site inspection, construction staking, and layout as required or needed. Responsibilities included completing mandatory documentation requirements and ensuring construction work adhered to the plans and specifications that fell under our staff’s purview.
Additionally, our staff’s responsibilities included assisting the resident engineer with all documentation for the above- mentioned project. This included but was not limited to job diary, weekly reports, daily quantities, field books, calculations, and layout.
