Description

The Cook County Public Safety Portfolio project includes improvements and renovations for the Department of Corrections (DOC) jail campus, the Leighton Criminal Courthouse (known as “26th and Cal”), and 11 other courthouses. These include the demolition of Divisions I and IA, the oldest and most notorious buildings at the jail, a multi-year program to replace the cell locks, doors, frames, and related security components in the remaining major jail housing units, a campus-wide mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) upgrade program, a campus-wide ADA assessment and upgrades, bathroom renovations and upgrades, and additional phases of the replacement and expansion of the security cameras system across the campus. The project also includes the Cook County Medical Examiner’s facilities, various support facilities for the Sheriff’s operations, and those of other public safety stakeholder agencies.

Services Provided

d’Escoto will be providing project management services for various projects under the Cook County Public Safety Portfolio. The project manager will be working with the Cook County Department of Capital Planning & Policy (DCPP), Department of Facilities Management (DFM), Cook County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), and all parties involved to ensure upgrades, renovation spaces, and land improvements meet users’ needs. d’Escoto will be responsible for working with the Cook County team members, architects, and engineers on budgeting, value-engineering, and scheduling.
