Description

The Field Coordinator position is responsible for fully understanding construction project plans and specifications, being knowledgeable of safety requirements and identifying potential concerns, understanding the contractor quality control requirements while providing quality assurance oversight, field quantity tracking, and recording of units and related project documentation into the system of record. This position will inspect and direct contractor work associated with main and service installation, main retirement, or general maintenance. The Field Coordinator will maintain accurate records and drawings as required.

Responsibilities

Position Function, Duties, and Responsibilities:
1. Use construction design specifications, inspects outside underground contractor work on gas mains and services and or project restoration work to ensure that new construction is installed in accordance with all company and industry standards.
2. Prepares all documents of construction including daily progress reports, work tickets and drawings of projects. Requisitions company material for job and coordinates pickup and delivery. Reconciles or balances material drawn out, material used and material returned.
3. Performs physical work including walking distances, using tapelines, measuring wheels and basic survey equipment such as a construction level.
4. Communicates verbally and in writing to shop personnel, contractors and construction management to ensure operational success. Performs work functionally in Excel, Word, Microsoft Project and other "Expert Systems" used in the construction process.

Description:
Typically resolves straightforward problems or problems that have routine solutions; limited independent discretion; Operates under direct supervision of the Construction Project Manager.

Minimum Experience Required:

1+ years Standard computer applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) to generate reports, create pertinent documentation and supply information to relevant parties.

1+ years Experience in interpreting and applying construction design specifications.

1+ years Staging projects or assigning and completing tasks as part of a project team.

Qualifications:

Degree:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Area of Study:
Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

Certifications:

Other Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
Must perform covered functions under Pipeline and Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA) Must perform such covered functions as emergency dispatching or gas design as an office employee
