As part of Nicor Gas’ efforts to increase operational reliability, flexibility, and meet forecasted load growth—Nicor replaced an existing 20″ x 0.281″ WT, 230# MOP line that was installed in 1956 with a new 24″ x 0.438″ WT, X65, 230# MOP line. d’Escoto provided various construction inspection services for the installation of the new pipeline. Additionally, d’Escoto supplied a full time Resident Engineer to oversee all excavations in the streets
The Elmhurst project involved the installation of approximately 3350 ft of 24” pipe. This project also included:
• One HDD RR tracks
• Several other conventional bores consisting of 24-inch
• Urban installation of most of the pipe under the resident streets.
• Having to coordinate installation with residents and supervise the restoration of the final pavement repair
