Description

University of Chicago Laboratory Schools (UCLS) Phase 2 Project consists of the new construction of the Arts Wing and renovations to Blaine East, Blaine West, Judd Hall, Middle School, High School, and Belfield Hall. The additions and renovations have modernized the prestigious private 100-year-old institution, while allowing for the addition of 300 students. Renovations encompassed multiple historic buildings with heavy emphasis on mechanical and life safety system upgrades.

Services Provided

As the MBE sub-consultant to the Construction Manager, Lend Lease, d’Escoto is providing construction administration services as the Diversity Manager for the project. As Diversity Manager, d’Escoto tracks and reports subcontractor commitments, goals, achievements, and projections as they relate to the requirements outlined in the University of Chicago’s Economic Impact Program.

d’Escoto has developed an in-house database application designed to proficiently track and report project and contract information in relation to Diversity Contract Participation (MBE/WBE/DBE etc.) and Workforce Participation.  d’Escoto is responsible for obtaining, reviewing, processing, and maintaining all subcontractor documentation including contract commitments, up-to-date schedules, forms, and valid certification letters and/or status.
