Description

The Tank Farm improvements at O’Hare International Airport included the construction of a new Administrative and Controls Building and electrical controls for the fuel system, updates to the existing Maintenance and Equipment Building, FOAM system and building. Four new pump pads are scheduled to be constructed with the capacity to fit six pumps each and associated filter vessels. Under project scope the existing East Pump Pad will be demolished once the new Controls Building and pump pads are online. To accommodate the new Administrative and Controls Building, existing utilities are demolished/relocated as well as new utilities being installed to support new additions. New utility scope includes new 30” storm sewer with associated feeder lines, catch basins, and manholes, ComEd electrical duct package, HDPE natural gas line, domestic waterlines, DIP firewater line, sanitary sewar, and new oil water separator.

Services Provided

d’Escoto, Inc is providing project engineers who are responsible for providing field inspection and supervision for new utility installation, foundations, and new building construction, as well as overseeing civil demolition. d’Escoto personnel are also responsible for monitoring erosion control BMPs and soil excavations for possible contamination. d’Escoto will provide oversite of Quality Control testing including soils test, pavement test, and Holliday test on completed pipe welds. Daily communication of construction activities with Menzies and Airport Operations are carried out as needed. Daily logs and progress photos are maintained on Procore.
